When an appointment is booked using Mobile Pay there is a preauthorization that is sent at the time of booking.
A preauthorization is not a charge. It is a temporary hold placed on the total amount of the appointment to verify the availability. It does not result in an actual deduction from your account or a transaction being completed. The funds remain in your account but are set aside to ensure they are available when the final transaction is processed.
The preauthorizations are voided if the barber cancels the appointment or after about 7 days from the booking time. When a preauthorization is released, a 'Refund' transaction is not issued since it was not a full transaction but the release is reflected in the amount total for the Bank Account.
Requested
If an appointment is requested the preauthorization is set and can be voided by canceling the request!
Completed
After the appointment has been processed, the barber can process the appointment on their end the status on the Appointment Details page will reflect "Completed". If the barber marks the appointment as "Cancelled" the funds are voided immediately.
Cancellation/No-Show Policy
You can cancel the appointment but if the barber has a cancellation policy enabled so your preauthorization will not be voided immediately. If the appointment time is missed and the barber has a No-Show policy, your appointment is subject to a fee.
The app gives barbers a few days to decide whether or not they'll charge their fee. Cancellation/No-Show fees are not processed automatically by us. If they don't charge you within a few days, the preauthorization will be voided and your funds will be released. If the status on the Appointment's Detail page is "Authorized" and not "Processed" then no fee has been charged.
